Chateau Woods was created in November 1986 with an initial series of fifty-nine (59) lots. The Homeowners Association was established at this same time by the developer, who served as the initial presiding officer.

In July 1991, Chateau Highlands was created with an addition of forty-eight (48) lots on the eastern section of the development. Construction continued into late 1994. Our development is referred to as Chateau Woods and sprawls over 45+ acres.

Chateau Woods is classified by the CC&Rs as well as by King County, as a Planned Unit Development (PUD) with single-family homes and common areas, not as a condominium.

Connecting Walls: Questions occasionally arise concerning the external connecting walls between many of the partner houses. What purpose do they serve and is it permissible to remove them? Answer: No, these walls exist to satisfy the zero-lot-line provisions of the PUD governing our development. They were installed as an alternative to the common wall used on earlier construction and cannot be legally removed.

Annually, the Chateau Woods Homeowners Association holds its annual meeting and elects its Board members. Board members consist of Chateau Woods homeowners who meet each month and volunteer their time who work towards preserving our development's architectural integrity and common elements.
